মাহিন্দা রাজাপক্ষে শ্রীলঙ্কার প্রধানমন্ত্রীর পদ ছাড়ার পর সরকারের দায়িত্ব নেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে প্রধান বিরোধী দল সামাজি জানা বালাবউইগেয়ায়া (এসজিবে)। তবে এ জন্য শর্ত দিয়েছে তারা। তা হলো মাহিন্দার ছোট ভাই গোতাবায়া রাজাপক্ষকে প্রেসিডেন্টের পদ ছাড়তে হবে।
আজ মঙ্গলবার শ্রীলঙ্কাভিত্তিক সংবাদমাধ্যম ডেইলি মিররের এক প্রতিবেদনে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। এসজিবের সংসদ সদস্য হারসানা রাজাকারুনা বলেন, প্রেসিডেন্ট রাজাপক্ষে ক্ষমতা ছাড়লে এসজিবে ক্ষমতা গ্রহণের সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে। তাদের দলের অধিকাংশ সংসদ সদস্য এ প্রস্তাব দিয়েছেন।
হারসানা রাজাকারুনা জানান, এসজিবের পক্ষ থেকে অন্যান্য রাজনৈতিক দলের সঙ্গেও বৈঠক করা হয়েছে। এর মধ্যে স্বতন্ত্র দলগুলোর পাশাপাশি সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী রনিল বিক্রমাসিংহের সঙ্গেও বৈঠক করেছেন দলের সদস্যরা।
এদিকে এসজিবের নেতা সাজিথ প্রেমাদাসা এক টুইটে বলেছেন, তাঁর দল শ্রীলঙ্কায় যেকোনো দায়িত্ব নিতে প্রস্তুত। তবে এর জন্য দেশটির সংকট সৃষ্টিকারী কোনো কাজের সঙ্গে যুক্ত হতে রাজি নয় তারা।
সাজিথ প্রেমাদাসা বলেন, ‘শ্রীলঙ্কায় সংকট কাটিয়ে উঠতে আমরা সর্বদা নিরঙ্কুশ সমর্থন দিয়েছি। আমরা কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাংকের গভর্নর এবং ট্রেজারি সচিবের সঙ্গে একটি ফলপ্রসূ বৈঠক করেছি। সংকটউসকে দিতে পারে, এমন কোনো কাজে যুক্ত না হওয়ার শর্তে আমরা যেকোনো দায়িত্ব নিতে রাজি।’
অর্থনৈতিক বিপর্যয়ের কারণে বিক্ষোভে ফুঁসছে শ্রীলঙ্কার জনগণ। খাদ্যপণ্য, ওষুধ ও জ্বালানির অভাব দেশজুড়ে। এ নিয়ে এক মাসের সময় ধরে দেশটিতে বিক্ষোভ চলছে। গতকাল সোমবার প্রধানমন্ত্রী মাহিন্দা রাজাপক্ষের অনুসারীরা বিক্ষোভকারীদের ওপর হামলা চালালে দেশজুড়ে সহিংসতা ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। এতে ক্ষমতাসীন দলের একজন সংসদ সদস্যসহ অন্তত সাতজনের নিহত হয়েছেন।
দুই পক্ষের সংঘর্ষের মধ্যে গতকাল পদত্যাগ করতে বাধ্য হন প্রধানমন্ত্রী মাহিন্দা রাজাপক্ষে। তবে তারপরও বিক্ষোভ-সহিংসতা থামেনি। হাজার হাজার বিক্ষোভকারী রাস্তায় নেমে রাতভর সংঘর্ষে জড়িয়েছেন। রাজাপক্ষেদের পৈতৃক বাড়িসহ অনেক মন্ত্রী-এমপির বাড়িতে আগুন দিয়েছেন। প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বাসভবনও ঘিরে রেখেছিলেন তাঁরা। এর মধ্যে পরিবার নিয়ে হেলিকপ্টারে উড়ে একটি নৌঘাঁটিতে আশ্রয় নিয়েছেন মাহিন্দা রাজাপক্ষে। ওই ঘাঁটির পাশেও বিক্ষোভকারীরা অবস্থান নিয়েছেন।
বার্তা সংস্থা রয়টার্স জানিয়েছে, বিক্ষোভ-সহিংসতা চলতে থাকায় শ্রীলঙ্কায় কারফিউ আগামীকাল বুধবার সকাল পর্যন্ত বাড়ানো হয়েছে।
