চীনের ঋণের ফাঁদে পড়তে যাচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ—এ নিয়ে নানামুখী আলোচনার মধ্যেই ঢাকায় নিযুক্ত চীনের রাষ্ট্রদূত লি জিমিং বলেন, ‘গ্যারান্টি দিয়েই বলতে পারি, বাংলাদেশে চীনের কোনো ঋণের ফাঁদ নেই। পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী এ কে আব্দুল মোমেনের সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাতের পর সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি এসব কথা বলেন।
আজ বুধবার বিকেলে পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে তাঁর দপ্তরে দেখা করেন লি জিমিং। আলোচনা শেষে সাংবাদিকদের প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি বলেন, ‘আমরা ঋণের ফাঁদ নিয়ে কথা বলেছি। অন্য দেশের বিষয়ে নয়। এখানে (বাংলাদেশে) কোনো ঋণের ফাঁদ নেই। বিশেষ করে চীনের কোনো ঋণের ফাঁদ যে এখানে নেই সেটি আমি গ্যারান্টি দিয়েই বলতে পারি।’
পরে পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী এ কে আব্দুল মোমেন সাংবাদিকদের বলেন, রোহিঙ্গা প্রত্যাবাসন নিয়ে চীনের সহযোগিতায় ত্রিপক্ষীয় উদ্যোগ নিয়েও আলোচনা হয়েছে।
সৌজন্য সাক্ষাতের পর পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের ফেসবুক পেজে বলা হয়, রোহিঙ্গা প্রত্যাবাসন, বহুপক্ষীয় ফোরামে সহযোগিতা, অবকাঠামোগত উন্নয়ন সহযোগিতা এবং চীনে আটকে পড়া বাংলাদেশি শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রত্যাবর্তনসহ পারস্পরিক স্বার্থসংশ্লিষ্ট বিষয় নিয়ে রাষ্ট্রদূতের সঙ্গে আলোচনা হয়েছে।
শ্রীলঙ্কায় আর্থিক সংকট শুরুর পর থেকেই চীন থেকে নেওয়া ঋণের কারণে বাংলাদেশও ফাঁদে পড়তে পারে, এমন আলোচনা নিয়ে কয়েক দিন আগে আক্ষেপ করে পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী সাংবাদিকদের বলেছিলেন, চীনের চেয়েও বেশি ঋণ জাপানের কাছ থেকে নিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ। অথচ এই ঋণ নিয়ে কেউ কথা বলে না। বাংলাদেশ ঋণ নেওয়ার বিষয়ে সজাগ এটা উল্লেখ করে তিনি আরও বলেন, যাচাই-বাছাই না করে প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা কোনো দেশ থেকে ঋণ নেন না। ঋণের ফাঁদে পড়ার আশঙ্কা নেই।
