উইন্ডিজের বিপক্ষে টানা ৪র্থ ওয়ানডে সিরিজ (২০১৯ সালের তিনজাতির সিরিজ জয় সহ টানা ৫ম) ও টানা ১০ ম্যাচ জেতার রেকর্ড গড়েছে বাংলাদেশ। এর আগে জিম্বাবুয়ের বিপক্ষে টানা ১০ ম্যাচ জেতার রেকর্ড গড়েছিল টাইগাররা। উইন্ডিজের বিপক্ষে দূর্দান্ত সফলতা ছাড়াও ২০২১ সাল থেকে টানা ৫ম ওয়ানেড সিরিজ জিতেছে বাংলাদেশ। ২০২১ সালে জিম্বাবুয়ের সাথে সিরিজ জেতার পর একই বছর শ্রীলংকার সাথে ওয়ানডে সিরিজ জেতে বাংলাদেশ। চলতি ২০২২ সালে আফগানিস্তানের বিপক্ষে সিরিজ জেতার পর সাউথ আফ্রিকাতে গিয়েও সিরিজ জেতার ধারাবাহিকতায় এবার উইন্ডিজের বিপক্ষেও সিরিজ জিতেছে তামিম বাহিনী।
টানা ৫ম সিরিজ জয়ের প্রথমটিতে জিম্বাবুয়েকে ৩-০ ব্যবধানে হারানোর পর চলতি ৫ম সিরিজেও উইন্ডিজকে হোয়াইটওয়াশ করার হাতছানি বাংলাদেশের সামনে। বলে রাখা ভালো, এই পাঁচটি সিরিজের তিনটিই জেতা হয়েছে বিদেশের মাটিতে। জিম্বাবুয়ের মাটিতে জয় স্বাভাবিক মনে হলেও আফ্রিকা ও উইন্ডিজের মাটিতে সিরিজ জয় অসাধারণ সফলতার অংশ। আফ্রিকা কিংবা উইন্ডিজে গিয়ে স্বীকৃত বড় দলগুলোরই সিরিজ জিততে যেখানে খাবি খেতে হয়, সেখানে বাংলাদেশের মতো উঠতি দল সিরিজ জিতেছে। ২০১৮ সালে উইন্ডিজের মাটিতে সিরিজ জয়ের পর এবারও সিরিজ জেতা হয়েছে।
একটা উঠতি দল একসাথে তিন ফরম্যাটে বড় দল হতে পারে না, ধাপে ধাপেই এগুতে হয়। বাংলাদেশ দল ঘরের মাঠে আগে ওয়ানডেতে শক্তিশালী হওয়ার পরই বিদেশেও সফলতা পাচ্ছে। তেমনি টেস্ট ও টি২০ ফরম্যাটে দেশের মাটিতে নিয়মিত সফলতার উপায় খোঁজতে হবে, তারপর একদিন ওয়ানডের মতো টেস্ট ও টি২০ ফরম্যাটেও বিদেশে সফলতা আসবে, ইনশাআল্লাহ।
